Baby’s First Year
During your pregnancy you may have taken a prenatal, practiced yoga and were very cautious about your diet – all for the sake of growing a happy and healthy baby. But now that you’ve given birth, you’re probably wondering what you can do to keep your child healthy.
Your appointments with Alexsia are meant to complement your appointments with your midwife or pediatrician. She will also track the growth and development of your baby, as well as answer any questions that may arise during this first year.
I want your child to grow up as happy and healthy as can be! When I was younger, I suffered from chronic ear infections, and seem to have chosen my antibiotics based on flavour (banana all the way!). I don’t want you child to suffer like I did, nor do I want you going to see the doctor on a weekly basis.
My goal is to figure out why certain conditions are happening, and eliminate the cause. This way, your child’s symptoms stop and won’t happen again. Let’s work together to continue establishing that healthy foundation, so that as your child grows his or her risk for preventable diseases decreases (like high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, and high cholesterol).

I look back at my teenage years fondly! Although I experienced a series of anxiety attacks late in high school (thanks to my Type A personality), it was my second foray into holistic medicine. Teens often don’t ask for help, as they believe they can achieve anything and everything on their own.
Nevertheless, it’s an important time to learn about their bodies and set up a good foundation of health beliefs and values that they will take into adulthood.
