Made to Mom Episode #6: Exercise in Pregnancy & the Postpartum
Podcast Links
Summary & Episode Takeaways
In this episode I’m talking about exercise during pregnancy and the first postpartum year.
All women should be physically active during pregnancy, aiming for at least 150 min of moderate-intensity physical activity each week to achieve clinically meaningful health benefits and reductions in pregnancy complications.
If you have any health condition, please speak to your obstetrical care provider to determine if exercise is a relative or absolute contraindication.
Regardless of method of delivery, consider booking an appointment with a pelvic floor physiotherapist at 6 weeks postpartum to help you return to or begin exercise.
